[...] The 8 pages Introduction made by H.N. Humphreys is in rubricated English gothic letter. The Titel and the calendar is rendered in brilliant color and gilt chromolithography on 25 card leaves. All edges gold gilt. Remarkable specimens of miniature painting from the court of Louis I, Duke of Anjou (1339-1384), reproduced and interpreted by Henry Noel Humphreys (1810-1879), a British illustrator, naturalist, entomologist, numismatist, and student of medieval manuscripts.
