Interesting large size local issue of Altrahlstedt Province Schleswig-Holstein in superb condition. The largest denomination depicts a family on the field next to horse during plowing as allegory for sowing the future. The banknote got an overprint on previous emission without date. The overprint states the issue 15 October 1922 and the duration of circulation: till 15 December 1922. The overprint bears a signature in the top right corner. The Rev. shows 2 cornucopias. Cornucopia is a horn of Amaltea, who according to Greek mythology bred Zeus after his birth. In mythology there was only one such horn, but for the design reasons there are two of them on the banknote, which is nevertheless is not accurate. Now Amalthea is one of the closest moons that orbits around Jupiter (Zeus).
