Interesting type with large coat of arms of Wilhelmina (1890-1948). For the country was under German rule (1940-1945) the coins were struck in Denver mint with letter D mark and a palm, which is an additional sign to distinguish colonial coinage from metropolis. The position of D is know in two places: near O (less common) and in the middle between date and O. This coin is of less common type D nearer to O. Recently with the help of this coin the main types of the emission were discovered and basic classification was introduced.

Die A - script with short serifs, wide ribbon.

Die B - script with elongated serifs, narrow ribbon.

Note. Many differences in wreath additionally shown on the added image.


This coin is attributed as struck with dies Obv: D close to O and Rev.: die A. The discovery is to be published in the Numista catalog en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces10589.html with the images of this very coin to introduce the classification of the emission.
