Interesting type with a VEILED HEAD. Though the die Obv. 1b with initials TB. instead of T.B. was found on penny 1896 and published in 2014, it was not till summer of 2021 when this die Obv. 1b on penny 1897 attracted attention of collectors. This brought to discovery, that the Rev. of the coins with Obv.1a and Obv. 1b are different. The presented pair is the set, which made the discovery happened.

Obverse
Die 1a - T.B. under the bust.
Die 1b - TB. under the bust, letter T lower and smaller.

Reverse
On the left coin the numeral 7 in date rotated counterclockwise: bottom between tooth, horizontal bar at left lower than at right. On the right coin bottom of numeral 7 to teeth. Distance between 1 and 7 in date is 10 tooth, that is half tooth shorter. For the large interest to this discovery it was decided to publish it at the Numista catalog.
