Interesting commemorative coin issued not for circulation though in circulation technical data. It is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of launch of satellite ESRO - 2B, which occurred to be the first from the European Union. It continues the tradition established in in 1967 in the USSR to celebrate in coins the first satellites, launched by territories, when image of the Sputnik-1, the first world satellite was introduced. All coins in BU condition were issued in coincards. The small mintage (just 250000 pcs) and high popularity of the theme makes this coin important for commemorative coins collectors.
