INTERESTING TYPE of LOCAL coinage in highly attractive condition. Very uncommon for China coinage in general and for the province particular. Rare provisional emission. Uncommon type with a drago guarding a pearl of immortality!!! The year of emission is written at the top of Obv. 午 ᠪᠠᡩᠠᠷᠠᠩᡤᠠ ᡩᠣᠷᠣ ᡳ ᠠᠨᡳᠶᠠᡳ ᠸᡝᡳᠯᡝᡥᡝ 丙 in knotted record, "Guangxu, made in the year 43". The date is of Chinese cyclical calendar, the beginning happened in 1864, thus 1864+43-1=1906. There were two varieties of the issue: with mintmark Fukien Mint in center and without a mint mark (issued by Tientsin Central Mint). This coin is of rare Fukien Mint.
